The Jenex Corporation

August 11th 2006
The Jenex Corporation - JEN

Formed in 1999, The Jenex Corporation is a medical device research and development company that was founded to bring innovative and effective consumer and healthcare products to worldwide markets. Currently, Jenex is focused on the marketing of two products arising from its patented thermal therapy technology. More than $6 million has been invested to acquire the patents, complete research, and to develop and design these products, both of which are sold over the counter (OTC) without a doctor’s prescription required.

Since its inception, Jenex has concentrated entirely on research and development. Up until the most recent quarter ended April 30, 2006, it had not generated any material revenues or earnings and negative operating cash flows. Operations to date have been financed through the issuance of shares and debt.

interceptCS

The most recent device that Jenex has developed based upon its patented technology is called interceptCS, the first product proven and approved to prevent cold sores. Jenex has been cleared by Health Canada’s Therapeutic Products Program to market interceptCS in Canada for the prevention and relief of the symptoms of cold sores, including blistering, lesions, inflammation, and discomfort.

Cold sores are caused by a virus that can remain dormant in the body for long periods of time. Recurrent cold sore sufferers are aware they are getting a cold sore by experiencing a tingling, burning, itching feeling at the site before the cold sore breaks the skin. When interceptCS is applied during this stage of the sore, clinical trials have demonstrated that it is a safe and effective means of preventing cold sores. The product prevents cold sore lesion outbreaks by enhancing the cell’s immune response to viral attack. interceptCS is used at this stage to deliver targeted heat therapy to the affected area.

Jenex’s interceptCS is protected by patents in Canada, the United States, and Europe. The market potential for such a product is enormous as cold sores affect approximately 80% of the North American population with a significant portion being affected on a recurring basis. interceptCS offers a natural, safe and clinically proven alternative to other products with undesirable side affects. At the present time, management is not aware of any other products available for cold sore prevention.

During the third quarter of fiscal 2006, the company launched interceptCS with Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation (SC:TSX) in the Canadian market. Jenex has long-term plans to seek FDA approval and market interceptCS in the U.S. and other international markets. After its Canadian launch, the interceptCS cold sore prevention system was featured in national flyers distributed by Shoppers Drug Mart. In addition, radio commercials featuring the product are now being aired on radio stations in all major markets across Canada. Since April 2006, interceptCS has been available in stores located in all provinces and territories across the country.

In late May 2006, Jenex announced that it had received worldwide patent-pending status for interceptCS and has secured trademark registration for key markets. On a worldwide basis, cold sore treatment represents a multibillion dollar industry. Management believes that with appropriate marketing strategies, advertising support and retail distribution, interceptCS has the potential to dominate this large, underdeveloped market.

Therapik®

The first product developed by Jenex using its thermal therapy technology is called Therapik®, a Class II medical device that has obtained the necessary regulatory approvals for sale in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Therapik® stops the pain, itch and inflammation caused by insect stings and bites. The company is presently pursuing licensing partners on a worldwide basis to market Therapik®.

Recent Development

On July 20, 2006, Jenex announced that it has launched Therapik® in China and Europe. An agreement has been reached with EuroDev BV, through Competitive Technologies Inc. (CTT:AMEX), to market Therapik® in China and Europe. EuroDev BV, with offices in the Netherlands, France and China, specializes in European and Asian business development. Jenex has already received its first purchase order for Therapik® to be distributed in China as a result of this arrangement. Management stated that this initial order establishes Jenex's entry into world markets and positions the company for expansion in these regions with its other products. In addition, Therapik® is being test marketed in approximately 800 high-profile retail stores in Europe. Management expects this distribution to increase to several thousand retail locations throughout Europe upon the conclusion of a successful market test.
